Learning with the system: building blocks for successful knowledge management programs

Kate Elgayeva, Presenter

In today's era of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity, organizations must be adaptable in the face of constant change (Harvard Business Review). Doing so requires that organizations engage in a continual process of learning and intra-organizational knowledge exchange and yet some critical ingredients of a recipe for effective knowledge management programs are often overlooked. How can knowledge management leaders in today's ever-changing organizations facilitate conditions for learning and optimize the organization's competitive advantage? This workshop will focus on identifying the essential building blocks of creating knowledge management programs that can optimize organizational change readiness, learning and innovation, and increase the organization's overall performance and effectiveness. Outcomes of this workshop for participants will include:

  • Understanding individual and organizational learning from a systems perspective;
  • Connecting systemic learning with knowledge management practices;
  • Identifying foundational components that contribute to successful knowledge management programs; and
  • Correlating the systems perspective with key organizational outcomes.
