Networking, Socializing and Collaborating

ARMA Chicago | Society of American Archivists | KM Chicago

Joint Event to Foster Opportunities to Connect

Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 6:00 PM

626 N State St, Chicago
Italian | River North

Join ARMA Chicago, Society of American Archivists and Knowledge Management Chicago for a free
networking event. This joint event is a great opportunity to connect with colleagues across professions of records management, information governance, archives, and knowledge management.

ZAGAT rated: "The more people in your party to share dishes, the better" at this "hip", "always crowded" River North Italian where "authentic", "way-above-average" "big and little bites" (including "wonderful house-cured meats"), "many wine options" by the carafe and "genuinely good" service "completely outweigh" the "astounding noise"; the "rustic" bi-level environs can get "tight", but prices are "so reasonable you can go back the next night" – and many do.

A KM Chicago Event - Dr. Arthur Shelley

An Evening with Arthur Shelley
July 2, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00
at McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP
300 South Wacker Drive, Suite 3100
Chicago, IL 60606

KNOWledge SUCCESSion, Building Strategic Capabilities Through Aligned Knowledge Flows

Based on his new book which explores topics on how to bring together aspects of effective knowledge leadership to enhance performance, Dr. Arthur Shelley will present KM Chicago with a lively dialog about Organizational Character, and include a fun game of exploration into how behavioral interactions impact knowledge flows and creativity.

KNOWledge SUCCESSion recognizes that we will willingly share our knowledge and insights with those we trust and respect. It is a process of interactive exchange that stimulates new ideas and becomes a self-perpetuating series of cycles in which people feel valued and are not afraid to “bounce” something untried. Ideas and concepts are nurtured to a point where they are robust enough to justify themselves, but not so much that the weaker ones survive in the longer term. The Darwinian evolution concept of adapt or die applies, and this ensures that the most robust innovations arise in the shortest possible time. Evolving WITH the environment is what makes KNOWledge SUCCESSion such a powerful concept. It facilitates an emergent pathway driven by enabling people to rapidly learn from their own mistakes, and the mistakes of others, providing a greater resilience to external forces.     (Shelley, GLOBE Magazine Ed1, iKMS 01/14, pp 27-30)
